10 Insights to Jump Starting Your Day

10 Insights to Jump Starting Your Day

Maybe it’s happened to you. You’re getting ready for bed and looking forward to tomorrow to make the approaching new day incredible. You read an inspiring book before you go to sleep and have some extra time to get a good meditation in and pray. During that meditation, you are conscious of each breath and your prayer brings peace and compassion into your heart. You click off the light and doze off into a deep sleep.

Before you know it, your alarm clock is blaring. You reach over and click snooze just to wake up again minutes later. Groggy, you slowly rise from your bed. Tired, you shuffle to the shower to get ready for the day.

Getting out of the shower you think about the day ahead. Meetings, deadlines, important tasks and that looming thing you’ve been putting off for weeks now. After changing you drag yourself to the kitchen to get coffee, hoping that will bring some relief. It does little.

While drinking your coffee you think to yourself, what happened? After such a calming and meditative practice last night why am I not excited about today.

Jumper Cables

This scenario has happened to me in the past. Dreading the day ahead, I searched for something that could inspire me to make the day the best one yet.

This was when I thought about what it would be like to have inspiration jumper cables we could attach to our hands and be immediately inspired. These jumper cables would clear the fear, lack of productivity, procrastination and the dread of the day ahead.

While there aren’t any cables I’ve found, there are some inspiring insights we can embrace when going through a difficult morning. These insights below can jump start your mornings.

A simple shift in thought, in feeling and in your spirit can bring about the inspiration needed to make any day great.

10 Insights to Jump Start Your Day

1 – Big doors swing on little hinges. It is the little things that make the greatest impact in our lives. When going through difficult situations, do the little things right and it can redirect your entire day.

2 – I am a mental being, if I want my life to change, my thinking and mental patterns must change. I cannot and will never alter anything by changing my environment without changing my thoughts. -Emmet Fox

3 – When going through storms of life, be like the trunk of the tree. Move my attention from my head to my lower belly and center yourself through the breath. -Thich Nhat Hahn

4 – Life will give you whatever experience is the most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. -Eckhart Tolle

5 – Each morning I can mentally rehearse and create the best me. By doing this on a consistent basis I rewire the beliefs and possibilities that await my life.

6 – Whatever an enemy may do to an enemy, and whatever the hateful may do to the hateful, the mind with a warped intent does even worse than that. -Buddha

7 – How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself and in no instance bypass the discriminations of reason? You have been given the principles that you ought to endorse, and you have endorsed them. What kind of teacher, then, are you still waiting for in order to refer your self-improvement to him? You are no longer a boy, but a full-grown man. If you are careless and lazy now and keep putting things off and always deferring the day after which you will attend to yourself, you will not notice that you are making no progress, but you will live and die as someone quite ordinary. From now on, then, resolve to live as a grown-up who is making progress, and make whatever you think best a law that you never set aside. And whenever you encounter anything that is difficult or pleasurable, or highly or lowly regarded, remember that the contest is now: you are at the Olympic Games, you cannot wait any longer, and that your progress is wrecked or preserved by a single day and a single event. -Epictetus

8 – The most important conversations are the ones I have with myself. I speak to my power, my strengths, my good and the Infinite that dwells at the depths of me this day.

9 – I cannot build today with the tools of tomorrow. I use the tools of today. With these tools I create my future.

10 – Whatever you believe intensely will happen immediately. -Paramahansa Yogananda
